ABOUT THE MFEEC:
Some people collect buttons with funny sayings on them. Others collect Raggedy Ann memorabilia while still others catch fish and have them mounted on their walls. Each of these people have something in common with us: They collect special things - Hip Hip Hooray!!!
What we choose to collect are Frozen Entrees - known to many as "TV Dinners." This seems strange to some people but if you really sit down and think about it... maybe it's not so strange after all. After all, most collectibles are peculiar until enough people collect them. Think about how a grown man with a collection of Star Trek toys would look if nobody else collected those things.
The most enticing part of Entree collecting is that it is far more challenging than most collections - here's why:
1) Most of the most rare and valuable Entrees no longer exist as they have been eaten and discarded - this is what makes them so rare.
2) FREEZERS - Entrees must be kept NBT (Never Been Thawed) to be considered collectable. Therefore, a large collection requires a lot of freezer space. Our chapter president, Shawn Anderson, has the best collection in the world and it requires him to have 14 full-sized freezers in a one bedroom apartment. I was in his apartment once and the humming of all those freezers can keep you awake at night.
3) Locating new pieces is super-hard. Entree collectors are still a pretty rare breed. Occasionally you can find Entrees on Ebay but most of the time you can't. In fact the best place to buy, sell and trade Entrees is at our Club Meetings - Join today!!!
Each week we gather at one of our members' homes or at the No Choice Cafe to discuss and trade Entrees. The main focus of our meetings right now is planning for the world's first FROZEN ENTREE ENTHUSIASTS' CONVENTION! As the date draws near the excitement grows. The meetings are not all business though. At the end of each meeting we have Games and Refreshments time where we kick back and have fun - so bring your Magic Cards!
WHAT IS NBT?
NBT is the primary classification of Frozen Entrees. It stands for Never Been Thawed. If an Entree does not remain frozen from the day it left the factory, it is no longer collectable. Also, Entree packaging must be unopened. How can I see my actual Entree if I can never open the package? Come to a meeting and meet Dr. Howard. He is one of our members and an ObGyn. He can run an ultra-sound on member's Entrees so you can see them without opening the box!
